EQUALIZATION DESCRIPTION CLERK

The Alcona County Board of Commissioners is seeking a qualified individual to fill the Equalization Description Clerk position. The Description Clerk is responsible for processing deeds, data entry and other general secretarial duties. Applicant must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel. Effective communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently is necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Two years experience working in an office environment. Acquiring the MCAT Certification (Michigan Certified Assessing Technician) with the State Tax Commission within one year is mandatory. Possession of a valid Michigan Drivers License.

EQUALIZATION DIRECTOR

Alcona County, Michigan

 

The Alcona County Board of Commissioners is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the Equalization Director position.  This position requires an applicant to develop and carry out policies for conducting surveys of assessments and assist the Board of Commissioners in the Equalization of assessments as required by State statute and regulation. Directs and conducts studies and analysis for the appraisal of real and personal property in order to ensure fairness in assessing units required by Michigan property tax laws. Maintains and updates the County’s Geographical Information Systems (GIS) parcel layer. The Director ensures that accurate assessment records are maintained. Person will report to the County Board of Commissioners as an “At Will” employee.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Five years of progressively responsible experience in appraising all types of property with supervisory/administrative experience. Michigan Advanced Assessing Officer (MAAO/3) certification from the State Tax Commission. Possession of a valid Michigan Drivers License.
