Press Release - Online Recreation Survey

Nico Tucker, Planner, NEMCOG
For Immediate Release
Online Recreation Survey Conducted by Alcona County
January 25, 2021 – The Northeast Michigan Council of Governments (NEMCOG) is assisting Alcona County with updating their Recreation Plans.
A Recreation Plan contains future plans for recreational facilities within Alcona County. Communities are required to have 5-Year DNR-approved Recreation Plans in order to qualify for grant funding from the Michigan DNR.
The planning process incorporates a community participation element that encourages input from citizens. Alcona County has chosen to gather this public input in an online survey. The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and is available online on the following websites: alconacountymi.com, and discovernortheastmichigan.org/recreation.asp.
Direct Survey Link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/AlconaRecreation
For those without internet access, copies of the survey will be available at the Alcona County Building or at the Harrisville, Mikado, Lincoln, Caledonia and Curtis libraries.
Alcona County officials are encouraging citizens in and around Alcona County to fill out and submit this survey because public input is a vital component of the future of the area and the public’s opinion is highly valued.

Haynes Township Assessor
1871 N Lakeshore Drive, Harrisville MI 48740
Due to common Up North technological challenges (storms, power loss, no service, etc.) the assessor is recommending ALL property owner wishing to file an official protest submit their protest in writing, accompanied by a signed L-4035 petition form, by mail or Email by attachment, in advance. Submitting a letter of protest in advance will not exclude the property owner from attending the meetings either in person (if lawful) or electronically (if requested), it will just ensure your protest is heard in case of technical difficulties. At this time, we do not have internet access available at the Township Hall. Should in-person BOR meetings become lawful from the Township hall location, the electronic remote access (Zoom) portion of the meeting will be generated from the Township Hall location and will be supported using personal Wi-Fi enabled devices which may or may not prove to be 100% reliable on any given day.
Please do not hesitate to contact the assessor for assistance!
