County Building Closure

DUE TO MIOSHA AND MDHHS DIRECTIVES,

         BASED ON COVID 19 CRITERIA

By Board of Commissioners action,  the Alcona County Building will continue to be closed until May 7th, 2021.

As is currently in place,  you may call,  or email any department. There are mail boxes available in the outer lobby you may use as a drop box.  Those boxes are checked not less than once each day.    You may also call to make an appointment if the business you have with a department can not be completed via any other method.   

Entry into the building will require a screening process which includes a non touch temperature process and require a face mask or other covering of the mouth and nose.

Alcona County continues to try to keep both citizens and staff safe.

Please be safe,  utilizing masks and safe distancing.

Online Recreation Survey Conducted by Alcona County

January 25, 2021 – The Northeast Michigan Council of Governments (NEMCOG) is assisting Alcona County with updating their Recreation Plans.

A Recreation Plan contains future plans for recreational facilities within Alcona County. Communities are required to have 5-Year DNR-approved Recreation Plans in order to qualify for grant funding from the Michigan DNR.

The planning process incorporates a community participation element that encourages input from citizens.  Alcona County has chosen to gather this public input in an online survey. The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and is available online on the following websites: alconacountymi.com, and discovernortheastmichigan.org/recreation.asp.

For those without internet access, copies of the survey will be available at the Alcona County Building or at the Harrisville, Mikado, Lincoln, Caledonia and Curtis libraries.

Alcona County officials are encouraging citizens in and around Alcona County to fill out and submit this survey because public input is a vital component of the future of the area and the public’s opinion is highly valued.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC & ONLINE MEETING

 

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Cedar Lake Improvement Board will hold a public and online meeting for the purpose of paying bills, and to conduct general business that may come before the Board.

 

In accordance with the Michigan Open Meetings Act and MDHHS Epidemic Orders, this meeting will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021, at 10:00 AM EDT at the Alcona County Building, Lower Level, Commissioner’s Room, 106 5th Street, Harrisville, MI 48740.  Please enter the building through the lower level public entrance.  Entry into the building will require a screening process which includes a non touch temperature measurement and the wearing of a face mask or other covering of the mouth and nose. Simultaneous electronic video conferencing via Zoom will also be provided.  Information to access the Zoom meeting is provided below.
